Sacred Games Season 2 postponed, Ranvir Shorey’s character in connection with Islamist outfit
The premiere of Sacred Games Season 2 is postponed. The second season of the Indian web television thriller series was supposed to be released on June 28 and fans were quite excited to see the continuation of story. But new updates claim that avid fans of Sacred Games need to wait for some more days.
The release of Sacred Games Season 2 has been pushed to August end by Netflix. The giant streaming service does not want the release dates of second season to clash with another hit on the platform. Even Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Saif Ali Khan are busy shooting for their respective projects and unable to allot dates for the series. While Nawazuddin Siddiqui is busy with the filming of Bole Chudiyan, Saif Ali Khan is currently in London for the shooting of his home production, Jawani Janeman.
Sacred Games Season 1 featured the renowned actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, Surveen Chawla, Rajshree Deshpande, Karan Wahi and Kubbra Sait. It was released on July 6, 2018. The show was a massive hit and received severe responses from the viewers. Later it was said that Sacred Games Season 2 will have an array of stars and the plot will be different and reveal more secrets from the past.
Last month, a teaser released by Netflix revealed that Kalki Koechlin and Ranvir Shorey would also be the part of the series with the actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Saif Ali Khan, Radhika Apte, Sobhita Dhulipala, Harshita Gaur etc.
"Personally, I am a fan of the series, and it is super awesome to be a part of the Sacred Games and Netflix family. Season 2 promises to be much more exciting and I cannot wait for viewers to watch me in the series," the series' director, Anurag Kashyap's wife, Kalki Koechlin said in a statement.
The 35-years old Indian-born French actress, Kalki Koechlin will play the role of Batya while Ranvir Shorey will be seen as Shahid Khan. He is said to be an intelligent officer in disguise at the Pakistan embassy in London who is linked with an extremist Islamist outfit.
