Poldark Season 5 finale may keep door open to return in future, says Debbie Horsfield
Poldark Season 5 is one of the most anticipated series of this year. Its filming is over and the series is likely to be premiered in July this year in the UK. Previously, it was repeatedly said that the imminent season would mark the end of British historical period drama television series which is based on the novels of the same title by Winston Graham. Does it mean fans won’t be able to see Aidan Turner in the outfit of Ross Poldark?
The returning of Poldark Season 5 is confirmed as the final one but the series creator-cum-writer Debbie Horsfield has given a hint that it may not be the end of Aidan Turner’s Ross Poldark. The sexagenarian writer recently said that there is a possibility of the show to be back in future as there are still 5 books of the 12-part series left to cover. “Never say never. We’ve had an amazing run but there are five books left and who knows what could happen in a few years’ time?” Horsfield said, as reported by The Guardian. Horsfield also said that “sometimes it is goof to leave people wanting more” although the “door had been left open” for the stars to return in future.
The production work for Poldark Season 5 has already been completed in February. That’s another reason why fans can’t restrict their emotions for watching the new episodes. However, according to Horsfield, the series will probe into the stories that were not covered in the printed sources, mainly that 10-year gap where plenty of integral events in history happened. Even Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle actor Pip Torrens (who plays the role of Cary Warleggan in Poldark) cited that the show indeed took the way into a different storyline for the imminent season.
The upcoming season will deal with the fall out from Elizabeth Warleggan’s (Heida Reed) death. The demise of George Warleggan’s (Jack Farthing) wife took place after giving birth to their child Ursula. Elizabeth took a potion to induce early labour to help convince George that Valentine was his son. she suffered an infection following Ursula’s birth and her condition quickly deteriorated, as reported by Express.
Poldark Season 5 doesn’t have an official airing date but it is expected to premiere in July this year. Stay tuned with Devdiscourse to get the latest updates on the series.
