The Andaman and Nicobar administration on Saturday achieved a remarkable feat by setting a new Guinness World Record at Radhanagar beach. The record involved unfurling the world's largest underwater national flag, a massive Tricolour measuring 60 by 40 metres.
The complex operation, conducted at Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), required tight coordination among multiple agencies and trained divers. Those present to witness the event included Lieutenant Governor DK Joshi, Chief Secretary Chandra Bhushan Kumar, and Director General of Police HS Dhaliwal. Involved parties included the Andaman and Nicobar Police, Forest Department, Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and scuba divers from various diving centres.
Rishi Nath, a Guinness World Records adjudicator, confirmed the accomplishment and presented an achievement certificate to Governor Joshi. This record emphasizes the Andaman and Nicobar Islands' emerging status as a hub for adventure tourism and globally recognized marine events.
