Royal Rift: Prince Harry Resigns as Sentebale Patron Amid Governance Dispute
Prince Harry, co-founder of the charity Sentebale, has resigned over a dispute with its chair, highlighting governance issues. The charity, aiding young people with HIV in Lesotho and Botswana, faces scrutiny from the UK's Charity Commission. This development underscores ongoing challenges in nonprofit governance.

Britain's Prince Harry has stepped down from his role as patron of Sentebale, a charity he co-founded to support young people with HIV and AIDS in Lesotho and Botswana. This decision follows a major dispute between the charity's trustees and chair, Sophie Chandauka, which Harry described as 'devastating.'
Founded in 2006 in memory of Princess Diana, Sentebale, meaning 'forget-me-not' in Lesotho, faced turmoil as both Harry and co-founder Prince Seeiso of Lesotho removed themselves from the organization, citing an untenable situation. This upheaval has caught the attention of Britain's Charity Commission, which is now assessing governance concerns.
While Sentebale has not received official resignations from royal patrons, Chandauka vowed to continue her role, accusing some involved of using media to craft untrue narratives. This controversy shines a light on reported issues of bullying and governance challenges within the charity.
