Telangana's Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced that the upcoming Miss World pageant in the state aims to boost its global presence as a tourism destination and stimulate economic activity.
Rao, during a state assembly debate, disclosed his interactions in the UK, where he encountered questions about Telangana's geographical location. The pageant, he noted, presents an opportunity to showcase Telangana's rich culture to an international audience.
In addition to the event, which will gather representatives from approximately 120-140 countries and some 3,500 journalists, the state plans to construct an international convention centre in Hyderabad, reminiscent of Mumbai's Jio World Centre, and initiate a 'Hyderabad Carnival'.
