The Maharashtra government's attention has been drawn to media content that potential insults Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, thanks to an intervention by NCP's Amol Mitkari in the legislative council.

Mitkari stated that numerous plays, books, and movies contained defamatory material about the Maratha king, sparking a call for bans on their production and distribution by state entities including its printing press.

Responding to these concerns, Minister of State for Home Pankaj Bhoyar pledged a thorough review and action against derogatory online content to safeguard the dignity of the revered historical figure.
