In Green Tribute, PM Modi and Mauritius PM Commemorate Leaders at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside Mauritius Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam, engaged in a meaningful tribute at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. They commemorated significant leaders and participated in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' tree plantation initiative, reinforcing their commitment to nature and sustainability.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alongside his Mauritius counterpart Navinchandra Ramgoolam, paid tribute at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden. The leaders laid wreaths at the 'Samadhi' of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam and Sir Anerood Jugnauth, paying homage to the monumental figures in Mauritian history.
In addition to commemorating past leaders, the prime ministers partook in a tree plantation drive, planting a Bael sapling as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative. This conservation effort symbolizes their shared commitment to environmental sustainability and honors nature and motherhood.
The initiative reflects a broader commitment, with over 27,500 trees planted globally. Modi's visit to Mauritius, marked by a grand reception, involved diplomatic discussions, emphasizing strengthened bilateral relations and a greener future.
