Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla took the stage on Monday to honor recipients of the Manipur State Kala Akademi (MSKA) annual awards and fellowships, aimed at recognizing outstanding contributions to Manipuri art and culture.
During a heartfelt ceremony at Raj Bhavan, Bhalla shared his admiration for the region's artistic heritage. 'I've heard of Manipuri art and culture, but witnessing its beauty today was truly enlightening,' he stated, emphasizing its worldwide acclaim. He noted, 'Manipur's artistic landscape is incredibly rich, with classical Manipuri dance and folk traditions like Lai Haraoba vividly capturing our cultural heritage.'
In his speech, Bhalla noted that since its inception in 1972, MSKA has celebrated excellence across the arts, literature, and fine arts, marking it as a beacon of achievement for artists and writers.
