Will Reeve, the youngest son of legendary Superman actor Christopher Reeve, reveals why he has never aspired to don the superhero's iconic red cape. The 32-year-old ABC News correspondent discussed his cameo in the latest Superman reboot during an appearance on 'Live with Kelly and Mark.'

When Kelly Ripa expressed surprise at DC Studios never considering him for the Superman role, Will explained, 'No, I've never gotten the ask. I learned early from my parents that to succeed in entertainment, you need to need the craft like air to breathe.' His parents, both accomplished performers, influenced his perspective.

While Will did act in school plays, he realized his ambitions lay elsewhere, leading to a career in journalism. In his cameo, starring alongside David Corenswet as Superman, Will delivers a single line, which took three takes to perfect, with everything but his line redacted in the script.

Will admitted the experience was 'pure terror,' unlike the exciting nerves he experiences in live television. He noted the film's director, James Gunn, felt fans would appreciate his appearance due to his lineage. Despite past opportunities, Will and his siblings have supported Superman projects, embracing their father's legacy.

His family's story has been celebrated, with the documentary 'Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story' winning a BAFTA award. Despite having roles in Superman films, Will shared, 'It's not like we own it -- it would be nice if we did.'
