Speaking to journalists, Sarma emphasized that Assam is now an aspirant state, and the media should break free from the narratives of the previous decades to better mirror the hopes and thoughts of today's new generation.
The Chief Minister expressed concern about the falling circulation of Assamese language newspapers and shifting advertising revenues to social media platforms. He urged a collective effort to reinvent media to improve its circulation and viewership.
