The Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) in Bengaluru has announced a competition to design a logo for the world's inaugural tilted LED Dome planetarium in Mysuru. Dubbed COSMOS-Mysuru, this cutting-edge facility will also serve as a data training center.
Eligible participants include Indian citizens or residents aged 14 and above. The top three submissions will be rewarded with book vouchers — Rs 10,000 for the first place, Rs 8,000 for second, and Rs 7,000 for third. Winners will also enjoy a two-night stay at any IIA observatory in the country, provided they travel at their own expense.
The initiative aims to promote COSMOS-Mysuru as an educational and research center, supported by the Department of Science and Technology and other governmental bodies. Spearheaded by India's Principal Scientific Adviser, the project is a collaboration between the IIA and the University of Mysore.
