The Punjab government of Pakistan has made a significant historical site accessible by opening the Bhagat Singh Gallery at Poonch House in Lahore. This venue, where Bhagat Singh's trial took place nearly 93 years ago, now allows visitors to explore various artifacts from Singh's life and his revolutionary endeavors.
Inaugurated by Punjab Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, the gallery signifies a collaborative effort between the provincial departments of industry, commerce, and tourism. The initiative aims to preserve the historical integrity of Poonch House by restoring it to its former glory and highlighting Singh's contributions to the independence movement.
Featuring documents such as trial details, letters, and photographs, the gallery sheds light on the events leading to Singh's execution by British authorities in 1931. The display serves as a poignant reminder of the freedom fighter's enduring legacy and the struggle for independence. The Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation continues its advocacy to rename Shadman Chowk in his honor.
