A dedicated facility for Sabarimala pilgrims, known as 'edathavalam,' has been officially inaugurated at the International Airport. The 5,000-square-foot area aims to improve conveniences for travelers heading to the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple.
State Industries and Law Minister P Rajeeve led the inauguration ceremony, noting the government's commitment to a seamless pilgrimage experience. Last year, approximately 6,000 devotees utilized a terminal set up for them, with the new area promising enhanced facilities.
The facility includes amenities like a flight information display, food services, a prepaid taxi counter, and a help desk by the Travancore Devaswom Board. Budget accommodations can also be booked within the airport's 0484 Aero Lounge.
