The Centre has made a significant move by issuing an expression of interest for setting up FM radio stations across 234 uncovered towns. This announcement was made by Sanjay Jaju, Secretary of Information and Broadcasting, during a press conference.
The government plans to conduct auctions for these stations in the coming days, aiming to expand the reach of private FM radio across smaller towns such as Adilabad. The initiative is part of the Private FM Radio Phase III Policy, approved by the Union Cabinet in August.
In addition to the radio project, the government is establishing an Indian institute of creative technologies in Mumbai, with a regional hub in Hyderabad. This aims to build skills and foster a startup ecosystem in the gaming industry. Meanwhile, the 55th International Film Festival of India will take place in Goa, encouraging participation from the Telugu film industry.
