In Delhi, the wedding season has officially kicked off with the promise of significant economic activity. Over the next three weeks, the national capital is set to witness approximately 4.5 lakh weddings, resulting in heavy traffic and bustling activity across the city.
To manage the expected traffic congestion, Delhi Police have deployed between 1,500 to 2,000 personnel. They are coordinating with banquet hall owners to ensure proper parking arrangements and are focused on reducing incidents like drunk driving and large processions obstructing main roads.
Wedding service providers in the city, including bands and planners, report a surge in bookings. This influx is expected to contribute to an economic boom, with the Confederation of All India Traders estimating a boost of Rs 6 lakh crore, impacting sectors like clothing, jewellery, and catering.
