Abhilash Sharma's 'Swaha', a black and white Magahi language film, will make its India Premiere at the International Film Festival of Kerala after clinching two awards at the Shanghai International Film Festival.
The film, to be featured in 'Indian Cinema Now', unveils the narrative of a resolute mother combating societal challenges to sustain her child single-handedly, following her husband's departure. This movie, starring Sonalli Sharmisstha and Satya Ranjan, was awarded the best director and best actor Golden Goblet Awards in Shanghai.
Sharma's inspiration for 'Swaha' stems from seeking to shine a light on economic disparities caused by religious and caste intersections, while also aiming to preserve the cultural heritage of the ancient Magahi language.
