T P Gopalan Nambiar, the influential founder of the BPL Group, one of India's pioneering electronic companies, has passed away at the age of 94. Family sources confirmed his demise on Thursday morning, following a prolonged illness.
Commonly referred to as TPG, Nambiar was a person of considerable acclaim and influence, being the father-in-law of BJP leader and former Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. His passing has been widely mourned across political and business circles.
Marking his death, former Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa expressed his condolences on social media, praising Nambiar's lasting legacy and significant contributions to the electronics sector. 'Shri Nambiar's enormous contributions and legacy will always be remembered,' Yediyurappa stated.
