The 11th Annual Meeting of the Innovation for Cool Earth Forum (ICEF2024) convened in Tokyo on October 9-10, gathering approximately 1,700 participants from 93 countries. The event, held both in-person and online, focused on the theme, 'How to Live within the Planetary Boundaries of Green Innovation.'
Organized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization, ICEF2024 featured 13 sessions. Keynote speakers, including Mr. Johan Rockstrom, highlighted the importance of technological advancements in achieving carbon neutrality and addressing global warming.
The forum unveiled a draft roadmap for 'Artificial Intelligence (AI) for Climate Change Mitigation 2.0,' which will be finalized at COP29 in Azerbaijan. The roadmap aims to integrate AI into efforts to combat climate change, supporting the transition to a clean energy-based economy.
