In a recent revelation, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) unveiled findings that for every rupee invested, a societal return of Rs 2.50 is achieved, according to Chairman S Somanath. Speaking at an event with students from Karnataka Residential Educational Institutions Society (KREIS), Somanath highlighted ISRO's commitment to serve rather than compete in the space arena.
To sustain its vision, ISRO is keen on fostering an ecosystem conducive to business opportunities in space technology. 'We can't rely solely on government funding,' Somanath noted, citing the expensive nature of space missions and the necessity of creating tangible benefits and applications.
Further, Somanath emphasized the significant impact of education in his career, reflecting on the vital role teachers played in guiding his journey. Addressing the influence of history and diversity, the event celebrated India's past pioneers, aiming to inspire future generations with insights into space technology career opportunities.
