The Mumbai Fire Brigade has issued a safety advisory urging citizens to exercise caution while bursting firecrackers during the Diwali festival. Highlighting the critical need for safety, the fire department insists on adherence to a 10 PM deadline for fireworks, emphasizing eco-friendly celebrations with minimal pollution.
In their advisory, the Fire Brigade underlined the necessity of adult supervision when children handle firecrackers. Citizens are reminded to utilize emergency services by dialing 101 and 1916 should any situation arise. "Each year brings joy, but mishandling firecrackers could lead to incidents, including fire hazards," stated the department.
Key safety measures include wearing cotton clothing, having water buckets nearby, avoiding enclosed spaces, and cautious lighting methods. Moreover, the Brigade advises avoiding fireworks near trees, buildings, and gas lines.
