Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared this year's Diwali as a historic occasion, marking the first celebration at the newly constructed temple at Ram Lalla's birthplace in Ayodhya after waiting for 500 years.
Modi's announcement came during the unveiling of development projects worth nearly Rs 12,850 crore, alongside the extension of Ayushman Bharat health insurance to elderly citizens aged 70 and above.
The eighth edition of Deepotsav in Ayodhya is being prepared to light up the city with 28 lakh earthen lamps on October 30, signifying the importance of this event as it follows the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in the temple earlier this year.
