Renowned director David Fincher is reportedly considering spearheading an English-language adaptation of the hit series 'Squid Game' for Netflix. Industry insiders claim that despite months of speculation about Fincher's next move, the details surrounding his involvement remain largely opaque.
Known for his work on acclaimed films like 'Se7en', 'Fight Club', 'Zodiac', and 'Gone Girl', Fincher might finish a separate film project before he delves into the 'Squid Game' series takes in 2025.
The news emerges just as the eagerly awaited second season of the original series nears its premiere, with Lee Jung-jae set to return as Seong Gi-hun. This would be the inaugural scripted spin-off from the original show directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, who has also seen the project extend into an unscripted series and video game franchise.
