The iconic Chaurasi Kutiya Ashram, where The Beatles honed their yoga and songwriting skills, is scheduled for a significant renovation. A Gujarat-based architecture firm, HCP Design, Planning and Management Pvt. Ltd, has been tasked with the project, aiming to start by the end of 2024.
The renovation of this historical site, deeply entwined with the legendary British band, will be carried out by architect Bimal Patel's team. Known for high-profile projects like the Central Vista and Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, HCP Design will preserve the ashram's unique character while enhancing its historical and cultural significance.
Anand Patel, the project head, stated that the government's initiative followed significant interest from foreign delegates during a G20 meeting. The site will remain a low-impact tourism destination, focusing on its ecological, musical, and spiritual heritage, while retaining the essence of its original architecture.
