In a significant breakthrough, authorities in Maharashtra's Palghar district have apprehended two individuals accused of stealing sacred metal artifacts from a temple. The suspects, identified as 65-year-old Rangilal Banarsi Chavan and 20-year-old Rohit Sunil Mura, orchestrated the theft at Panchamukhi Shivmandir.
The crime took place on the night of October 16-17, during which the accused allegedly took a copper lamp, a trident, bells, and other religiously significant items, totaling an estimated worth of Rs 30,000, according to Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil.
In a swift investigation, police have fully recovered the stolen items, bringing relief to the local community. The accused are now in custody pending further legal proceedings.
