In light of escalating pollution levels, Manasthali Wellness, a mental health platform, is urging citizens to celebrate a safer, more sustainable Diwali. Citizens are encouraged to avoid hazardous cracker bursting and to adopt responsible waste disposal habits.
Dr. Jyoti Kapoor, the founder and director of Manasthali Wellness, emphasized the importance of prioritizing eco-friendly practices during the festive season. She highlighted how fireworks, while often a staple of Diwali, should be handled with care—used only in open spaces and away from people, pets, and flammable materials.
Additionally, to minimize environmental impact, citizens are advised to choose biodegradable decorations, such as clay diyas, and energy-efficient LED lights over incandescent bulbs. Noise-free, eco-friendly alternatives like flower pots and sparklers are recommended, alongside supporting local artisans for festive shopping.
