The film, a notable production by Shashi Kapoor and directed by Girish Karnad, marked a significant point in Annu Kapoor's career.

In an exclusive chat with ANI, Annu Kapoor recounted the events leading to the tension. Main cast members, including Shashi Kapoor and Rekha, were present when a small incident over paying a waiter escalated. Kapoor ordered snacks and paid cash when asked, causing a production team member to report the exchange to Shashi Kapoor, who then confronted Annu Kapoor through director Govind Nihalani.

Despite the disagreement, Annu Kapoor remembers the respect he holds for Shashi Kapoor. Their differences were resolved when Shashi Kapoor showed a gesture of reconciliation. Annu Kapoor, who admires Shashi Kapoor's work ethic, expressed, 'In these 42 years, Shashi Kapoor remains one of the finest producers I've known.' Kapoor continues to impress with his film roles and radio show, 'Suhaana Safar With Annu Kapoor'.
