In a move heralding a new era of inclusivity, the Baoli Sahib temple in Pakistan's Punjab province is set to undergo reconstruction, thanks to a significant Rs 10 million budget allocation. After sitting in disrepair for over six decades, this development marks the first phase in restoring the temple to its former glory, fulfilling a key demand of the local Hindu community.
The Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has begun the temple's reconstruction in Zafarwal town, Narowal. Once finalized, the temple will reestablish a religious site that has been non-operational since 1960, forcing the Hindu community to travel outside Narowal for worship. The restoration signifies a bridge to the past, especially for Narowal's 1,453 Hindus who have awaited this milestone for years.
Chaired by Shoaib Siddal and supported by Manzoor Masih, the restoration project is a monumental effort led by government and community leaders. Upon completion, the temple will be managed by the Pak Dharamsthan Committee. The effort is a testament to the dedication toward cultural preservation and integration amidst Pakistan's diverse societal fabric.
