In a significant development for India's entertainment industry, Serene Productions, spearheaded by Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla, has announced a major investment in Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
The company revealed on Monday that it will acquire a 50% stake in both Dharma Productions and Dharmatic Entertainment for a sum of Rs 1,000 crore, valuing the entertainment giant at Rs 2,000 crore.
This strategic alliance aims to marry Dharma's renowned storytelling with Serene's forward-thinking business strategies. Karan Johar will remain the executive chairman, while Apoorva Mehta will aid in guiding the strategic direction. The collaboration emphasizes integrating advanced technologies to enhance content creation and distribution.
