Temple Turmoil: Controversy Over VIP Access to Mahakaleshwar Sanctum

A controversy erupted following the unauthorized entry of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde's son into the Mahakaleshwar temple sanctum. This has led to the removal of a temple official and criticism from the Congress. Authorities are taking measures to prevent a recurrence.

The Mahakaleshwar temple administration removed an official amidst controversy over the entry of Eknath Shinde's MP son, Shrikant Shinde, into the temple's sanctum sanctorum.

Despite rules prohibiting such entry, Shrikant Shinde was allowed access, sparking criticism from opposition Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Consequently, temple administrator Ganesh Dhakad announced the removal of Vinod Chouksey, responsible for viewing arrangements, for alleged negligence.

Additionally, three security personnel received show-cause notices and strict measures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the Mahakaleshwar temple is a significant 'jyotirlinga' site drawing numerous worshippers. Congress MLA Mahesh Parmar criticized the double standards allowing VIP access while regular devotees endure long waits.
