Tragic Temple Fire Claims Life of Beloved Priest

Jayakumaran Namboothiri, a priest at Puthiyakavu Temple in Kilimanoor, tragically succumbed to severe burns after a fire caused by a gas leak in the temple's kitchen. The incident occurred when he opened the kitchen door with a lit lamp. Police confirmed gas leakage as the cause.

A priest in Kerala, identified as Jayakumaran Namboothiri, passed away following severe burns sustained in a temple fire, authorities reported.

The incident occurred in the kitchen of Puthiyakavu Temple in Kilimanoor, Thiruvananthapuram, where the priest went to prepare offerings. CCTV footage shows him opening the kitchen door holding a lit lamp, which set off a massive fire.

Police have confirmed that the fire was sparked by a gas leak. Despite receiving treatment at a private hospital, the priest succumbed to his injuries on Thursday evening.
