In a poignant tribute to the late Ratan Naval Tata, over 300 community Durga Puja committees in Jamshedpur opted for a quiet celebration on Thursday, canceling cultural programs and refraining from playing music.
Tata, who passed away in Mumbai at 86, was significantly attributed to Jamshedpur's growth in industries and trade, prompting an appeal from the Central Durga Puja Committee to honor his memory with a simple festival. Some organizers even displayed Tata's photograph beside the puja marquees.
In addition to the community's homage, Jamshedpur Football Club also paused to honor Tata, observing a moment of silence before resuming practice, underscoring the deep impact of Tata's legacy on the club and local community.
