A mechanic from Mandya, Karnataka, has emerged as the winner of this year's Kerala Thiruvonam Bumper Lottery, clinching the staggering prize of Rs 25 crore. Altaf, the lucky recipient, shared his excitement in Kalpetta, Wayanad, recounting how he has been trying his luck with lottery tickets for nearly 15 years.

Often visiting Wayanad to see a childhood friend in Meenangadi, Altaf made regular purchases of lottery tickets, one of which finally turned out to be a winner. The winning draw, held at Gorky Bhavan in Thiruvananthapuram, selected ticket number TG 43422, sold by SJ Lucky Centre in Panamaram, Wayanad.

Remarkably, this is the second consecutive year the bumper prize has been won by someone from outside Kerala, as last year's reward was claimed by four joint winners from Tirupur, Tamil Nadu. Post deductions, Altaf will receive around Rs 13 crore, marking a life-changing windfall.
