The legislative assembly witnessed a heated discussion on Wednesday as the LDF government consented to debate an adjournment notice that calls for a judicial probe into the disruption of the famed Thrissur Pooram festival.

State Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, M B Rajesh, represented Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, arguing that the notice aligned with previous submissions, suggesting the opposition's intent to create a political diversion.

The annual festival faced controversies after police interventions disrupted traditional rituals, notably delaying the anticipated fireworks display, much to the dismay of festival-goers.
