The Ayodhya administration on Tuesday issued a stringent ban on the sale, distribution, and serving of all meat products in the district during the nine-day Navratri festival set to commence on October 3.
According to an official order by the assistant commissioner (food safety and drug administration) of Ayodhya, all meat shops, including those selling goat, chicken, fish, and beef, will remain closed from October 3 to 11. The directive also extends to hotels and restaurants, which are prohibited from cooking or serving non-vegetarian food during this period.
The administration has called on the public to report any violations, urging them to alert the food safety department at 05278366607 if they find meat being sold or stored. Non-compliance with the order will result in severe legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
