Post-Monsoon Surge: Char Dham Yatra Sees Record Footfall
As the monsoon season retreats, the Char Dham Yatra has resumed with significant momentum, seeing over 20,000 pilgrims visiting daily. This is a substantial recovery from the usual monsoon slowdown caused by landslides. Officials anticipate a record number of visitors this year, surpassing previous years' figures.

As the monsoon season retreats, the Char Dham Yatra has resumed with a surge in pilgrim visits, with over 20,000 devotees visiting the four Himalayan temples daily.
The pilgrimage traditionally slows during the rainy season due to frequent landslides blocking access to Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri temples. The Yatra's pace has picked up significantly post-monsoon, with 20,497 devotees reached on Monday alone.
Historically, the number of visitors drops during monsoon, often necessitating route suspensions due to landslide damage. However, the second phase of the Yatra has gained momentum with a large number of registrations in October and November. Until September 30, a total of 37.91 lakh pilgrims visited, and a record turnout is anticipated for the year.
