PM Modi to Celebrate a Decade of Swachh Bharat Mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission by participating in the Swachh Bharat Diwas programme on October 2. The celebration will see the launch and foundation laying of multiple projects focused on sanitation and cleanliness, collectively valued at more than Rs 9,600 crore.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the event will highlight India's achievements in sanitation over the past decade, including recent efforts under the 'Swachhata Hi Seva' campaign. Modi is scheduled to speak at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The projects include initiatives worth over Rs 6,800 crore under AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0 aimed at enhancing urban water and sewage systems. Additionally, ten projects worth over Rs 1,550 crore will focus on improving water quality and waste management in the Ganga basin. Fifteen compressed biogas plant projects worth more than Rs 1,332 crore will be launched under the GOBARdhan scheme.
