Sharad Pawar has strongly criticized the endeavors of communal elements to obliterate the history of the Koregaon Bhima battle, a conflict where Dalit forces triumphed over the Peshwas. Addressing this matter on Monday, Pawar highlighted the Maharashtra government's 2018 establishment of an inquiry commission to examine the violence following the Elgar Parishad event.
Amid his remarks, Pawar discussed receiving a summons to testify before the Koregaon Bhima Inquiry Commission. He recounted experiences of pressure during cross-examination, commending the youth's role, including advocate Rahul Makhare, in unveiling the truth to society.
Pawar also used the occasion to criticize Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling him as a threat to societal equality and the Constitution. He warned against BJP leaders' aspirations to change the Constitution, emphasizing the foundational role of Babasaheb Ambedkar in maintaining India's stability.
