Legal action has been initiated against several YouTube channels for allegedly disseminating defamatory content about esteemed actor and filmmaker Balachandra Menon.
The case was filed following a complaint by Menon with the city's police commissioner, alleging that the channels aired an interview with an actress who made derogatory remarks against him.
According to the FIR, the videos were intentionally shared on September 27 to defame and intimidate Menon. The case falls under Sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act. This incident is part of a broader crackdown, which includes multiple FIRs against high-profile Malayalam film personalities for alleged sexual harassment, unveiled by the Justice K Hema Committee report.
