Pomegranate Potential: Zaozhuang Hosts 2024 Industry Development Conference

ZAOZHUANG, China held the 2024 Pomegranate Industry Development Conference to promote industrial revitalization. The event featured competitions, exhibitions, and exchanges in scientific research, cultivation, and brand marketing, highlighting new achievements. Zaozhuang, known as the 'Hometown of Pomegranates,' has become a major hub for pomegranate deep processing and cultural products.

The city of Zaozhuang in Shandong Province, China, recently hosted the 2024 Pomegranate Industry Development Conference, as confirmed by the Cyberspace Affairs Office of the CPC Zaozhuang Municipal Committee.

Under the theme 'Facilitate Industrial Revitalization through Pomegranates to Embrace a Thriving Life,' the conference featured events such as a Pomegranate Bonsai Crafting Competition and the Zaozhuang Pomegranate Cultural Creative Design Contest. Participants discussed scientific research, cultivation techniques, processing, and brand marketing to advance the pomegranate industry.

Zaozhuang, renowned as China's 'Hometown of Pomegranates,' has seen considerable growth in its pomegranate industry. The city now has more than 100 deep processing products, including food, beverages, health supplements, cosmetics, and handicrafts, making it a notable industrial cluster. The total cultivation area has expanded to 120,000 mu, with an annual yield of 120 million catties. The industry encompasses 118 market entities and 500 enterprises and cooperatives, yielding nearly 600 million yuan annually. In 2023, the overall industry chain's output value neared 4 billion yuan, solidifying the pomegranate's status as a crucial economic asset in the region.
