Deer remains discovered in a forest department nursery have sparked serious allegations of illegal wildlife activities. An officer suspects that the deer was killed for a 'meat-party' and that its skin was sold to smugglers. However, the forest department maintains that the deer was found dead and was buried without a post-mortem.
The controversy unfolded when PFA Vikendra Sharma alleged that forest sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar orchestrated the killing for illicit purposes. Following Sharma's complaint, police exhumed the deer's remains from the nursery at Kolhai village and sent them for postmortem.
Additional allegations include the sale of the deer's skin and the missing animal's head. While PFA Sharma was unavailable for comment, Divisional Forest Officer Pradeep Kumar Verma confirmed departmental action would be taken against those responsible, stressing the need for a thorough investigation.
