India has taken significant steps to bolster its international partnerships in water resource management by holding high-level meetings with Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil confirmed the discussions.

During his meeting with Zimbabwe's Deputy Minister V P Haritatos at the ongoing National Water Week-2024, Paatil emphasized the importance of enhancing Indian investments in Zimbabwe's water sector. Both officials discussed strategies to strengthen water management and drive agricultural reforms in Zimbabwe.

Paatil assured of India's commitment to providing comprehensive technical assistance to address Zimbabwe's water challenges. In another meeting with Tanzania's Water Minister, the potential for a Memorandum of Understanding was explored. Both nations agreed to share expertise and bolster cooperation in areas like water conservation and groundwater management.

Paatil also met with World Water Council President Loïc Fauchon, who invited India to join the prestigious global platform. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, India aims to forge robust international partnerships for sustainable water management.
