Mumbai Artist Sculpts Unique Ardhanari Ganesh Idol to Highlight Gender Harmony

Rintu Rathod, a Mumbai-based artist, created a unique 'Ardhanari' Ganesh idol from chocolate to promote gender harmony amid rising crimes against women. The idol, combining male and female aspects, emphasizes balance and will be immersed in milk at the festival's end. The chocolate-laced milk will aid underprivileged children.

In a unique endeavor to promote gender harmony, Mumbai artist Rintu Rathod has sculpted a Ganesh idol in the 'Ardhanari' form, blending male and female aspects.

Rathod utilized 20 kg of dark chocolate and 10 kg of white chocolate to craft the 25-inch idol, now installed at her Santacruz residence. 'This form of Ganapati is significant in Hinduism, underscoring that male and female principles are essential and complementary,' she explained.

Amid increasing crimes against women, the need for such representation is pressing. The idol will be immersed in milk on Anant Chaturdashi, with the chocolate-laced milk distributed to underprivileged children.
