Hollywood star and former WWE wrestler Dave Bautista has opened up about his weight loss journey, revealing that he decided to shed pounds to look better alongside his co-stars in upcoming films.

Bautista recalled how he had to bulk up to 315 pounds for his role in the 2023 horror action film 'Knock at the Cabin'. 'I started trimming down because I got really big for a role. Uncomfortably big. For 'Knock at the Cabin' I got really big. I was around 315 pounds,' he shared during an interview with Chris Van Vlieti. Bautista noted the difficulties of shedding the weight he had rapidly gained, stressing that his natural size already makes him stand out on screen but adding more weight became 'distracting'.

'The more I trimmed down, the better I looked on camera and the better I appeared next to other actors. I'm still a large human being. At 6'4 and 240 pounds, next to your typical actor, I look like a gorilla, and it's distracting. I'll probably lose a few more pounds. I'm just killing myself to be this trim. I'm training hard,' he revealed. Bautista began his wrestling career in 1999 with WWE and transitioned to acting in 2006 with 'Relative Strangers'. He gained prominence with 'Guardians of the Galaxy' in 2014 and has since appeared in multiple projects like 'My Spy', 'Dune: Part Two', and 'The Last Showgirl'. His latest work is the action comedy 'The Killer's Game,' slated for release in 2024.
