In a somber appeal, actor Vijay Varma has urged paparazzi to respect the privacy of Malaika Arora's grieving family following the tragic death of her stepfather, Anil Mehta, who allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a building in Bandra (West) on Wednesday.

The incident drew a large crowd of photographers to the premises, eager to capture images of the grieving family and visiting celebrities. Taking to the social media platform X, Varma requested the media to allow the family some space during this difficult time.

A police official reported that Malaika's mother, Joyce, was present in the flat during the incident and discovered Mehta had jumped only after hearing the building's watchman call for help. Anil Mehta was found in a pool of blood, with the initial autopsy confirming death due to multiple injuries.
