PCI President Devendra Jhajharia expressed a strong belief that India's para-athletes are poised to surpass their previous record by clinching 40 to 50 medals at the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics. During a felicitation event hosted by Indian Oil Corporation, Jhajharia thanked everyone for their unwavering support.

'I am confident that in LA 2028 we will only better this performance from here. I promise everyone on behalf of the athletes that we will win at least 40 to 50 medals in the next edition of the Games,' Jhajharia stated emphatically. This vow follows India's historic haul of 29 medals at the Paris Paralympics, which included seven gold, nine silver, and 13 bronze.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister of State for Sports Raksha Khadse lauded the para-athletes for their incredible journey and expressed hope that their achievements would inspire young Indians. The athletes also had an opportunity to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi earlier in the day.
