Dawn Richard Files Lawsuit Against Sean 'Diddy' Combs for Sexual Assault and Battery

Former singer Dawn Richard has filed a lawsuit accusing music mogul Sean 'Diddy' Combs of sexual assault and battery, sex trafficking, gender discrimination, and fraud. Filed in the Southern District of New York, the lawsuit also names former Bad Boy Entertainment CEO Harve Pierre.

The legal action came a day after a Michigan inmate was awarded a $100 million judgment against Combs. The inmate, Derrick Lee Smith, accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting him nearly 30 years ago. Richard, who was part of the girl group Danity Kane and R&B trio Diddy Dirty Money, filed the lawsuit on Tuesday.

Combs' attorney, Erica Wolff, stated that the rapper is eager to refute Richard's claims in court. Wolff accused Richard of fabricating the allegations to coincide with her album release and press tour. Richard alleges that Combs repeatedly groped her and threatened her life during their professional relationship.
