In a novel and refreshing move, the Delhi High Court introduced a 'Humour in Court' section on its website, showcasing witty and memorable courtroom moments. Acting Chief Justice Manmohan also unveiled two other IT initiatives - the Delhi High Court WhatsApp Services and the e-Museum, aimed at preserving legal heritage and improving accessibility.
Chairman of IT, AI, and Accessibility Committee, Justice Rajiv Shakdher, emphasized the need for levity in courtrooms. He noted that this project captures the history of legal proceedings through anecdotes, which will be recorded on the new platform following certain SOPs.
The e-Museum will provide digital access to landmark judgments and case records, making influential cases such as the Mahatma Gandhi Assassination and the Parliament Attack available online. The WhatsApp service will enable lawyers and litigants to receive updates and case information via their smartphones, streamlining judicial communication.
