Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to allot a house to an elderly woman living in a toilet in Vikarabad district due to extreme poverty.
Reacting to media reports highlighting her plight, Reddy instructed officials to visit the woman and ensure she receives immediate assistance.
The elderly woman, who lost her husband several years ago, had a small house which collapsed during the recent rains. With no other housing options available, she had been residing in a toilet constructed under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
'It's disheartening to see such situations. I've directed officials to visit her and ensure immediate action for her well-being. The Collector has been instructed to take necessary steps for the allotment of a house,' Revanth Reddy stated on X.
