Akon to Headline Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival

R&B singer Akon will headline the Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival, scheduled for November, officials announced Tuesday.

Also performing are R&B group Boney M, DJ R3HAB, and American nu metal band KORN, they confirmed.

Akon's performance on November 16 is part of his 'Superfan Tour', which includes shows in multiple Asian countries in November and December, they added.

Supported by the Meghalaya government, the Cherry Blossom Festival will occur on November 15 and 16 and attracts thousands of music lovers from across the nation every year.

Last year's festival lineup featured Ne-Yo and Ronan Keating.

Officials stated that Boney M's appearance is part of their farewell tour.

Tickets for the festival are available online, starting at Rs 3,299.
