Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday took a veiled dig at the BRS leadership, questioning the legitimacy of their 'sacrifices' during the statehood agitation. He spoke during the inauguration of the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, attended by numerous weavers.

Reddy praised the late Konda Laxman Bapuji, a former minister who resigned his post in 1969 to support the Telangana statehood movement. Bapuji, who belonged to the weavers' community, vowed not to hold any political position until Telangana achieved statehood.

Reddy critiqued BRS leaders for purportedly quitting posts and forcing elections, leading to their accumulation of substantial assets. He contrasted their actions with Bapuji's genuine sacrifices and pledged government support for the weavers, including the consideration of a Rs 30 crore loan waiver.
